I made a huge mistake yesterday

Yesterday was Kanta-Kwento's Press Launching. It's an album produced by Muzic'sKool and my band GAP69 is part of the album.

I wanted to look good. So I invested time in doing my make up. When I bought a Naked 3 palette two months ago, it came with a freebie Urban Decay primer. I have been using it ever since and have been very satisfied with its result so far. 

Yesterday was different though, While applying the primer on my brows and eyelids, I put a little too much that I had to spread some parts of it on my eye bags and on the side of my eyes. Then I thought, oh wow, this could make a great concealer! -- BIG MISTAKE. It made my face look like a walking cake. Yummy but not acceptable. LOL.  

Sorry I had to make this face so that you can see the creases clearly. 

Wrinkles and eyebags EVERYWHERE!

If you noticed, my face was not flawless at all. The primer highlighted my eye bags, wrinkles and it made a lot of creases -- THE HORROR!  I took selfies with my normal face but you can still see that the primer was not "normal looking" like how I wanted my prepped up face to look. 

To be fair, I took these photos 10 hours after putting my make up on. The eyebrows, eyeshadows and eyeliner are still there which means the primer did its job. However, I am in no way, making a primer my concealer again. Like, EVER!

Everyday glowing look using drugstore make-ups

When I posted a selfie four days ago, a Facebook friend complimented on how great my skin is. I do have a fair skin, at least fairer than the average Filipino color but it's definitely far from perfect, I just know the right products to use for my everyday make-up.

I only use my "expensive" make-ups (mac, urban decay, lancome) on special occasions but for my daily do, I use my favorite drugstore make-ups.  

The BEFORE look 

Here are the list of products that I use to achieve my everyday glowing look: 


1. Evian facial spray (Php 199.00) 

It's an inexpensive primer that doesn't make your face look too "cakey". Nobody wants a cakey face. Also, Philippines has a normally warm weather, this facial spray hydrates your skin for 8 hours. So no matter how stressed out you can get, this spray can help you look radiant all day, everyday. 

2. Celeteque matte moisturizer with SPF 30 (Php 230.00) 

Whoever invented this product deserves a noble prize! No? Okay. but give that brilliant person a gerderm prize! I discovered this product only three months ago and it was inside a bank. I was opening an account and I couldn't help but notice how radiant the skin is of the teller that was assisting me. I could tell that she's using a foundation or whatever because her neck area was not as radiant as her face (P.S. don't make that mistake) but I was staring at her the whole time, trying to figure out the product that she's using. I badly needed to know because she was literally glowing that I had to stop her in the middle of our transaction and asked for the magic potion. I immediately took a mental note and went straight to the mall after to buy it. What took me by surprise was how affordable Celeteque is!

I usually let the product dry on my face by facing the fan after applying before putting on a lose powder (face powder is okay to use too) so that the product will sit better. A small amount will do to cover the whole facial area. I am still using the first bottle that I bought three months ago.


3. Nichido eyebrow pencil (Php 60.00) 

I use the intense bronze shade because it suits best with my skin color. It is important that you know the shade that blends well with your skin and hair color. Don't hesitate to play with the testers provided. Buy the best shade that won't make you look like a Cara-Delevingne-Wanna-Be-Gone-Wrong.

4. Nichido eyeliner (Php 68.00) 

Been using this product for 6 years now because it is easy to use, manage and its CHEAP! When used everyday, it will last for up to 3 months. It is not waterproof though so think twice when crying with this product on.

5. IN2IT sheer shimmer blush (Php 375.00) 


I love this product because it doesn't easily come off plus it's an instant highlighter.

For me, the key to getting the best everyday look is to always strive for the "natural" look. Remember that not everything is "hiyang" for our skin. What may work for me, may not work for you. It took me awhile to find the products that are best for my face and skin type. Also, since I have a passion for make-ups, I dedicated some of my extra hours to research on make up reviews and tutorials. 

Physical beauty is nothing without a beautiful heart and personality but why not have both if you can.

How To Fix A Broken Face Powder

Hello everyone! I have been very busy the past week that I wasn't able to write a blog. I was originally thinking of blogging about How to make an 80 peso dress look like 10x it's price but thanks to a batchmate, I have a better blog for you guys and it's absolutely fantastic! Even I was amazed and thankful that this beautiful angel posted her powder problem in Facebook and I am very excited to share this to you!

Rosmar's Mac Face Powder

When Rosmar (my batchmate) uploaded this broken Mac powder last Tuesday, I immediately felt bad for her. Why? Because it happens to me all the time and I know just how inconvenient a broken powder is! A broken powder is like a broken woman. It'll make you feel it's presence. Even if you try to fix it by throwing the broken pieces, it just won't stop breaking! And if you are not that keen on taking care of it, it will keep on crying, breaking and spreading in just about every single stuff in your bag which is so annoying! (I told you, LIKE A BROKEN WOMAN) 

Anyway, I am so glad I commented because I got to read this girl's comment about Michelle Phan's tutorial on how to fix broken powders. I am such a fan of Michelle, in fact she's one of the reasons why I spend a lot of my time watching videos in youtube because I am really into make-ups and hoping to be a MUA someday.

So I immediately scoured for that tutorial that the girl was talking about and OMG, I was flabbergasted! I just couldn't believe that I haven't seen this video before! Would've saved me a lot of money from buying new face powders, eye shadows and highlighters every time I break one of them because as what I've said, it happens to me ALL THE TIME! I hate to admit it but yes, I am a clumsy woman that's why I am soooo glad that I was able to find out about this! A little late, but it's better late than never. 

And because this will surely help me a lot, I am sharing this to my Streetsmartie people so that you too can save your make ups and save your hard earned money (or your parents money)! 

I love Michelle, but this video is mostly focused on acting than teaching. I actually thought that the intro is just one of those annoying Ad that I searched for the Skip Ad link. Still helpful though and I was entertained by Michelle's cuteness. The actual tutorial will start at 2:23 (You're welcome) 

If you need a step by step procedure on how to make it right, here's a video that I found and its from 2 years ago (Michelle's video was uploaded 8 months ago). It's a simple video but it's precise and doesn't have unnecessary scenes. Also, it's obvious that Michelle used a new powder that was not used yet and purposely broke it for the tutorial. This video actually has a used powder that was obviously broken accidentally just like how normal people break theirs. 

I am really glad that I was able to know about this trick and I hope you guys are happy to find out about this as well.

Natural Look Make-Up Base Cream For Only 20 Pesos? No Way!

Yes way! But before I share this amazing product let me tell you that I am a huge fan of Revlon liquid foundations. I love them to bits! I have been using it for almost 8 years. I would feel awfully uncomfortable going out of the house without putting my desired amount of that fine liquid on my face. (Have you ever had that feeling? Like you feel naked without putting on that everyday accessory?  Share your stories on my facebook page, I would definitely love to hear from you! See yah!)

Anyway, so here  is the story on how I got to know about this product. I had a huge financial problem early this year. That was like the rock bottom point for me. I couldn't even afford a new cheap strapless bra to replace my very worn out bra so that I can wear strapless clothes on my gigs.. That's unfortunate event #1. Unfortunate event #2: To my horror, my most precious last bottle of Revlon liquid foundation dropped it's very last cry. It rolled on my fingertip, acting like its feeling sorry for me. The nerve! How could they go empty that fast?! Unfortunate event #3: I cannot afford a 900 pesos worth of Revlon Liquid Foundation at that time. The good thing is, I still have my complete set of make-ups minus the foundation. Without the money to buy my precious RLF, I had to resort into buying this famous multi-level company's product, one month to pay (familiar?) and cheap liquid foundation. Would you consider 480 pesos cheap find if the foundation made you look like those sales ladies in Gmall (no offense) who have more white faces than those chinese dolls? No way!

Okay fine, I'm already mumbling here and you are like waiting for the highlight of this blog at this very moment. Patience streetsmarties!

I got to know about this product on a Gensan trip with my two good friends Ai and Rhoy. So Ai and I were putting our make up on and Rhoy (who is a handsome man by the way) started to apply this cream on his face. Ai and I got weirded out with the whole man-applying-a-cream-on-his-face-thing that we asked him what it is. He laughed and said, "this product can work magic on your faces!". Of course, we instantly tried in and in just 60 seconds we looked like supermodels! or so we thought.. but seriously? It was like wearing my Revlon make up again!

The secret? iWhite Korea! The plastic bottle is worth 170 and you can use it for up to six months depending on your usage. It also offers sachet packages that's worth 20 pesos only. The sachet can last up to two weeks. I told you, YES WAY!

Amazing eh? I will still buy Revlon though if I already have the money! But for now, I am most satisfied with this product!
